Blytheville's Laura Martin found the old script in a used book store many years ago and wanted to stage "On Golden Pond" to honor her aunt, Hallene Gauden, and her mother-in-law, Mary Martin, who had lost their battle with Alzheimer's disease. Laura had called our office in Little Rock to tell us about her desire and wanted to pledge the proceeds to Alzheimer's Arkansas...

It was good news last week when Main Street Blytheville announced its intention to move ahead with plans to hire a new executive director.

Blytheville Mayor James Sanders was recently elected at District 1 vice president of the Arkansas Municipal League.

The annual Blytheville Chili Cookoff will enter its 34th year in 2014, and while the event has spent the past six years in the hands of the United Way of Greater Blytheville, this year, the event is being handed over to Main Street Blytheville in hopes of rejuvenating the longtime fall event.

Mr. Charles Otis Alexander, 83, of Osceola, died of a heart attack Saturday, June 24, 2014, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.
