Conference call yields no deal for city, IRS

Blytheville leaders had a conference call with the Internal Revenue Service appeals division Wednesday, but the IRS still has yet to accept the city of Blytheville's temporary 1-cent tax as the payment method for the multimillion dollar payroll tax debt.

Abbott has been a Blytheville resident since 1966, and is a 1975 graduate of Blytheville High School. He holds a bachelor's degree from Central Bible College. He has been an employee of Delta Auto Parts since 1972 - managed the business since 1981, and purchased it in 1992.

The Blytheville Chickasaws head to Paragould Friday night to take on the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles. Blytheville (2-3, 1-1 5A-East) is coming off a huge, 12-7, win over the Nettleton Raiders. The win stopped a three-game losing streak for the Chicks who also ended a 10-quarter scoreless streak in the process...
