Harold Rowe, 92, of Dell, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at St. Benards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born to William and Marian Shutt Rowe in New York, he was the fifth born of 18 children. He often said as a child, there were so many children, that babies slept in dresser drawers. He was raised as a cowboy on a farm in New York with his brothers. Harold loved to compete in horse and carriage competitions, and he raced in pole bending races but always went the wrong direction. Harold was an operating engineer in Rochester, before moving to Arkansas. He instilled a good work ethic to his children, to whom have grown to be successful. He was an avid craftsman, he loved to remodel homes and repair furniture.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Rowe; siblings, Frank Rowe, Eddie Rowe, Lola Gilbert, William Rowe, his twin Harriet Rowe, Betty Joan Rowe, Lois Buszack, Bobby Rowe, Helen Spicer, Maurice Rowe and Mary Rowe.

Harold is survived by his children, David Rowe and wife Janine of Canandaigua, N.Y., Terry Rowe of Walworth, N.Y., Carol Duke and husband Richard of Upper Marlboro, Md., Karen Hardin and husband Barry of Marion, N.Y., and Lynn Rowe of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Steve McNair, Laurie Rowe, Kathryn LeeAnn Clark, Jeff Cook, Tad Tilton, Kelly Chaparro, Courtney Thornel and Emily Harris; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; siblings, Dwight Rowe of Gosnell, Marian Gothard of Pittsford, N.Y., Irma Shattuck of Dickson, Tenn., Herb Rowe of Akin, S.C., Jerry Rowe of Akin, S.C., and John Rowe of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many, many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Friday, April 12, from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Huffman and Rev. Danny Rigney officiating.
