Donald Ray Hatcher, 75, of Manila, former Caraway resident, passed from this life Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. Donald was the son of the late Travis Ellis and Georgia May Fleming Hatcher and was a 1966 graduate of Manila High School. He went on to earn two associate degrees from the former Mississippi County Community College in Blytheville. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Over the years he had worked for Maverick Tube of Blytheville, American Greeting in Osceola and Thomas & Betts of Jonesboro, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Manila and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed working outside. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Ann Boyd Hatcher; one daughter, Carrie Ann Hatcher; one sister, Norma Lawrence; and one niece, Cindy Powell.

Survivors include his daughter, Molli Hatcher Palmer (Alan) of Manila; four grandchildren, Haley, Alan, Jr., Easton and Weston. He also leaves one nephew, Phillip Lawrence, and one niece, Angie Rolland.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Donnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Caraway Cemetery, Caraway, with military honors. Serving as active pallbearers will be Johnny Palmer, Dennis Palmer, Alan Palmer, Paul Cravens and Tommy Dunigan.
