Floyd “Pat” Clowers

Floyd “Pat” Clowers, 98, of Luxora, passed from this life Saturday, March 23, 2024. He was born Oct. 7, 1925, to Daniel and Angeline Clowers in Van Buren County, Arkansas.

Pat was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Billie Jo Clowers, who passed away in 2011, as well as his parents, 11 siblings, and three grandsons, Ronald D. Clowers, Jason Clowers and Matthew Bowles.

He is survived by two sons, Ronald (Gwen) Clowers of Mathison, Miss., and Gary (Lydia) Clowers of Fremont, Ohio; two daughters, Diane (Jerry) Delancey and Sherri (Michael) Godsey, both of Osceola. Mr. Clowers leaves eight grandchildren, Stphanie (Randy) Lambert, Heather (Chuck) Delancey, Jerry W. (Bonnie) Delancey, Lauren (Rydr) Churchwell, Gary (Lydia) Clowers Jr., Daniel Clowers, Whitney Bowles and Dylan Bowles. He will also be missed by 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Pat spent many happy years working within the farming community in Mississippi County. He was also a heavy equipment operator for Phillips Construction Company until his retirement at the age of 80. Mr. Clowers enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as visiting with his friends where his sense of humor shone brightly. He loved spending time with family and in later years meeting for coffee with his “coffee buddies”.

The family received visitors Friday, March 29, at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Osceola. The funeral service began at 11 a.m. with Bro. Danny Pankey officiating. Burial followed in Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville. Wilson Funeral Home-Osceola assisted the family with all arrangements.
