Bobby Allen Wood

Bobby Allen Wood, 76, of Blytheville, died peacefully Jan. 2, 2024, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. He was born Aug. 26, 1947, in Fresno, Calif., to the late Joseph Harlow Wood and the late Erma Louise Wheeler. Bobby was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a master electrician and a member of Tenth Street Baptist Church. Bobby loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his life partner, Ann Judd. He was an avid coin collector and a member of the Memphis Coin Club.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Mary Frances Wood; a sister, Melba Brotherton; and a brother, Bert Joseph Wheeler.

He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Joseph Allen Wood (Melinda) of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two daughters, Michelle Poston of Gosnell and Anita David of Armorel; one brother, Charles “Chuck” Wheeler (Rose) of Kennett, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Mo. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
