Leroy Washington Lockhart, 69, of Joiner, passed away Dec. 1, 2023, at his home. He was born May 11, 1954, in Joiner to John and Cora Lee Washington Lockhart. He worked for Viskase for 23 years, retired in 2017 and was a member of First Baptist Church in Joiner. Mr. Lockhart was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cora Lockhart; six brothers, Ossie Love, Vernon Love, Sylvester Lockhart, Roosevelt Lockhart, John Lockhart Jr., Shelley Lockhart; and one sister, Ruthie Sykes.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Lockhart of Joiner; two sons, Tony Lockhart of Nashville, Tenn., and Adrian Lockhart of Jonesboro; one daughter, Tawanda Lockhart of Joiner; eight brothers, Jimmy Bowers, Andrew Bowers and Earnest Ray Washington of Chicago, Ill., Esaw Washington of Osceola, Joe Washington and Kevin Love of Joiner, Jerry Love of Marion and Everett Washington of Fultondale, Ala.; four sisters, Essie Wilkerson of Chicago, Ill., Bettie Bryant of Waterford, Miss., Earlene Macklin of Osceola and Deborah Bass of Detroit, Mich.; two grandchildren, Tamarial Johnson and Talisha Lockhart; and three great-grandchildren, Jayden Bolden, Jayce Tucker and Jeremiah Bolden.

Visitation will be Saturday, Dec. 9, from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem MB Church in Osceola. Burial will be at Rivercrest Gardens in Marie with Rev. Arthur Townsend officiating.
