Erica Mechelle Chew

Erica Mechelle Chew was born Aug. 14, 1981, in Blytheville, to Eric Burton and Mechelle Chew. Erica attended Blytheville School District. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Erica was preceded in death by her father, Eric Burton, and grandparents, Eddie and Bernice Chew. She passed from this earthly life on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. at the age of 42.

Those left to cherish memories are two sons, Casimer Chew of the home and Divine Meadows of Blytheville; her daughter, Cashay Chew of Conway; her mother, Mechelle Chew of Blytheville; two brothers, Anthony Hale of Jonesboro and Kori Chew also of Jonesboro; one sister, Trundalaya Burton of Tulsa, Okla.; her grandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Richard of Blytheville; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 1, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney, Blytheville, where Reverend Odale Jones is the pastor. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Dec. 1, at noon at the church. Minister Blanton Jones will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery.
