Freddie Mae Smith

Ms. Freddie Mae Smith, 69, of Blytheville, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born April 19, 1954, to the late Fred and Gladys (Hinton) Smith in Blytheville. Mrs. Smith was a retired custodian for Blytheville School Systems. She was also a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville where she served as an usher.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Roy Johnson Jr.; two brothers, James Brown and Steve Evans; two sisters, Dorothy Hill and Mary Davis.

She leaves behind two sons, Derrick Johnson and Calvin (Sheila) Smith, of Blytheville; one daughter, Irene (Fred) Debose, of Blytheville; two brothers, Fred Smith Jr., of Blytheville and Frank Smith, of St. Louis, Mo.; and three sisters, Ida (Sam) Scott of Trinity, Ala., Maebell Brown and Lois Adams, both of Blytheville; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, Nov. 18, from noon-2 p.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville. Funeral service will immediately follow with pastor Larry Guyton officiating. Interment will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home - Blytheville is in charge of all arrangements.
