Laverne Denise Starks

Laverne Denise Starks was born May 26, 1977, to Willie Ray Turner Sr. and Mary Ann Mitchell Gorman in Hayti, Mo. She departed this life Oct. 27, 2023, in Steele, Mo., at the age of 46.

Laverne is survived by two daughters, Tanisea Starks and Tamiya Starks, both of Steele, Mo.; seven sisters, Marlane Turner of San Antonio, Texas, Terri Dority and Jackquiline Amos Kirby, both of Jones, Ark., Juanita Eison of Dyersburg, Tenn., Lou Ella Powell of Quincy, Ill., Gloria Turner of Lansing, Mich., and Jackquelyn King of Fort Wayne, Ill.; three brothers, Jimmy Cunningham of Bellflower, Calif., Timmy Cunningham and Willie Ray Turner Jr., both of Caruthersville, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10-11:55 a.m. Funeral service will follow at noon at New St. Paul Church 515 E. Sawyer, Blytheville. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Steele, Mo.
