Matthew Conrad Enos

Matthew Conrad Enos of Armorel passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at Gosnell Heathcare. He was born in Newton, Mass., on Dec. 21, 1933, to Manuel and Mary Jessie Sousa Enos. He was raised in Provence Town, Mass. Matthew played many sports in high school: basketball, football, baseball, track and swimming. After graduating from high school in 1952 he joined the United States Air Force and spent the next 30 years serving his country. Matthew is a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His service took him to many different bases in the United States and across the world. While stationed in Germany he met his wife, Luise B. Reif, and they married in 1954. They raised three boys in the remaining years of the Air Force service. He was blessed to be able to take his entire family to many of the bases in the United States and overseas. Matthew was stationed at Blytheville Air Force Base from 1978-1982 where he retired and has lived for the past 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Luise B. Enos; one son, Mark M. Enos; his parents, Manuel and Jessie Enos; and one sister, Rachel Timnes.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Rhonda) Enos, of Blytheville, and Hans Enos, of Blytheville; five grandchildren, Travis (Amanda) Miller, of Blytheville, Shannon (Mandy) Miller, of Steele, Mo., Carrie (Jamie) Magers, of Jackson, Tenn., Nicholas (Haddasah) Enos, of Blytheville, and Jacob (Abby) Enos, of Manila; eight great-grandchildren, Briley (Austin) Manuel, of Steele, Mo., Lily Miller, of Steele, Mo., Taia Carter, of Jackson, Tenn., Saquon Percival-Enos, of Blytheville, Emily Enos, of Manila, Addi Miller, Livi Schaeffer, and Mili Miller, all of Blytheville.
