Lloyd Dale Rea

Lloyd Dale Rea, 82, of Caraway, passed from this life Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House, in Jonesboro. He was born Oct. 18, 1940, to Samuel and Stella (Jarvis) Rea in Caraway. Mr. Rea was a very respected member of the community as he was the former mayor of Caraway and a retired member of the Caraway Fire Department. He was of the Baptist faith and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Caraway. Mr. Rea was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Stella Rea; three brothers; one sister; one daughter, Linda Fay Rea; and one grandson, Wesley Rea.

Survivors include his wife, Fay Rea, of the home; two sons, Jeff (Saneita) Rea and William “Howard” Rea, of Caraway; four grandchildren, Dustan Rea, Cody (Robin) Rea, Austan (Mallory) Rea and Darrin (Michael) Brown; two great-grandsons, Carter and Sawyer Rea; and one great-granddaughter, River Rea.

Services for Mr. Rea will be held Tuesday, Sept. 19, at First Baptist Church, 213 E. Kentucky St., Caraway. Visitation is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. and will be followed by the service at 3 p.m. with Bro. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial will take place in Caraway Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, 1323 W. Keiser Ave., Osceola.
