Shawn Patrick Riggs

Shawn Patrick Riggs, 52, was born Dec. 5, 1970, in Arizona and died Aug. 9, 2023, in Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Earl Riggs and Janice Deason Riggs; brother, Dustin Len Riggs; and grandparents, Guilda and Benny Deason and B.E. and Ruth Riggs.

Shawn was a U.S. Army veteran, proud to serve as a third generation member of the Armed Forces. Shawn was of Assembly of God faith.

Shawn was known for his mechanical skills and caring heart. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his aunts, Belma Cossey, Mary Smart and Rhonda Deason; niece, Ashlynn; cousins, Jan, Michi, Kristie, Monty, Kenny, Denice and Cynthia; and many family and friends.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Cockrum Cemetery Sunday, Aug. 20, at 2 p.m. with Kenny McMinn officiating.
