Garland Cephas Bobo

Garland Cephas Bobo, 83, of Osceola, passed away July 16, 2023, at Flo & Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was retired from Osceola Police Department, retired from Osceola School District as an administrative assistant, a trustee at Tabernacle MB Church in Osceola and the owner of Southside Grocery for 20 years, also in Osceola. Mr. Bobo was born Feb. 21, 1940, in Clear Lake to Harvey L. and Rosie Lee Blackburn Bobo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; two brothers, Virgil Bobo and Leon Poe; one sister, Rosette Agee; and one grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Ora Lee Bobo of Osceola; one son, Eric S. (Dora) Campbell of Killeen, Texas; five daughters, Eugenia Annette Bobo-Smith of Jonesboro, Gwinnette (Tony) Bobo-Hudson of Lizella, Ga., Karen Lynnette Bobo of Osceola, Anita (Gary) Peterson of Kansas City, Mo., and Catherine Bobo of Schaumburg, Ill.; five sisters, Leona (Leroy) Tate and Wanda Washington of Gosnell, Cordie Murphy of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Mary Bobo-Douglas of Rentoul, Ill., and Lonnie Mae Scott of Elkhart, Ind.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, July 28, from 5-7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. The funeral will be Saturday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle MB Church in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola with Pastor M.L. Smith officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola will be in charge of the services.
