Kenneth Lynn Cole, 57 of Manila, passed from this life Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Kenneth was born March 29, 1966, in Douglas, Mich., to the late Wayne Oliver and Hazel Parks Cole. He and his family moved to Manila when he was in the second grade. Kenneth enjoyed his school years and challenged himself to be his best. He was proud to be the salutatorian of the Manila Class of 1984. Kenneth attended Arkansas State University graduating with a degree in electrical engineering.

Kenneth served in many management and manufacturing positions throughout his career. He worked at Colson Caster Company, Maverick Tube/Tenaris, Anchor Packaging and Phoenix Services. His favorite job was Senior Assistant-Engineering Director USA with Tenaris. He loved traveling and meeting people around the world.

Kenneth married Anita Henry on Aug. 22, 1987. To this union was born two sons, Ryan Tyler Cole and Connor Jacob Cole. He was a wonderful father and enjoyed his kids tremendously. Long road trip planning was a relaxing task for him. Nine-day trips of sightseeing were commonplace when he had a week of vacation. He was devoted to his family and his church. Kenneth accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in July of 1989. He was baptized and joined Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in October of the same year. He served as adult Sunday school teacher, church treasurer and deacon. He loved his extended church family.

Kenneth fought a valiant fight against cancer. He didn’t want his boys to think that quitting was an option when things got difficult. Kenneth’s body succumbed to his illness on Sunday, July 16, at Flo and Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro. His spirit was immediately with God and he met those who have gone before. Kenneth was greeted by his two unborn children and his loved ones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Garry Wayne Cole.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with pastor Harold McMickle and Rev. Eddie Hawkins officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn White, Billy Warren, Richard Gassaway, Jon Bratton, Trent Saracini, Willis Lambert and Greg Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers include Ronnie Morris, Chris Bratton, Evan Bratton, John Ashabranner, MHS Class of ‘84, Hunter Hawkins, Evan Hawkins, Reid Hawkins and Carson McCoy.
