Billy Dale Poe

Billy Dale Poe, 77, of Hot Springs, formerly of Leachville and Hermann, Mo., passed from this life Saturday, July 1, 2023, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. Born in Manila and raised in Leachville, he was the son of the late Paul and Virgie Woods Poe and had been a resident of Hermann, Mo., before making his home in Hot Springs 30 years ago. He was a retired chief engineer for various riverboat and barge companies before his retirement. Billy was a devoted Mason and member of Lodge # 365 in Whittington, Ark., and past member of Lodge #123 in Hermann, Mo. He was involved in the “Bikes for Books” bicycle giveaway in the Hot Springs Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Survivors include one son, Matthew Poe; three daughters, Dana Poe, Cassandra Erfling and Kristy Poe; one brother, Mike Poe; three sisters, Sue Sheffield, Paulette Poe and Mary Roach. He also leaves seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A celebration of life is to be held in September in Hot Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.howardfuneralservice.com.
