Johnathan Wayne Mitchell

Johnathan Wayne Mitchell was born Oct. 21, 1973, in Armorel to Mary W. Johnson and James Anderson. He gained his wings on Feb. 23, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, James Anderson.

Johnathan confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He later became a member of New Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Alvin Clay, now being pastored by Pastor Clark Philips. Johnathan joined the United States Navy as an operation specialist. After serving 20 years in the Navy he retired. On Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, Johnathan completed his earthly mission and answered his call home.

Johnathan leaves to forever cherish his memories, his mother; Mary W. Johnson of Blytheville; two daughters, Akira Mitchell and Jaylah Storey; a special friend, Jaylah Storey all of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Gloria J. Moncrief (Micheal) of Blytheville and Shirley Johnson Gordon (Terry), of Arlington, Tenn.; four brothers, Earnest Johnson of West Memphis, Emmitt Johnson(Loida) of Houston, Texas, Charles Mitchell (Tracey) of Little Rock and Calvin Johnson (Stacey) of Key Largo, Fla.;and host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, from 11 a.m.-12:55 p.m. at New Saint Paul M.B. Church 515 E. Sawyer, Street, Blytheville. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 3600 Highway 163, Birdeye, AR 72324 with eulogy by Pastor Clark Phillips.
