Tuesday, January 17, 2023

Ulas F. (Sonny) Nash was born May 5, 1953, in Little Rock to Mr. Ulas Daniels and Ms. Lorene Butler. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. Ulas (Sonny) transitioned this life on or around Dec. 25, 2022, Christmas Day in his home at the age of 69. Well-known throughout the city of Blytheville, Sonny was loved by many.

Ulas “Sonny” Nash graduated from Cotton Plant High School in 1971. He attended Philander Smith College where he worked as a clerk and typist before graduating in 1975. From there, Sonny travelled to Los Angeles, Calif., where he worked for Allied Aviation for a span of five years. Sonny was a very smart and intelligent man with much wisdom.

He was preceded in death by his father whose death is unknown and his mother Lorene Butler Greene in March 1995. His brother Donald “Pippy” Greene preceded him in death March 1986.

He leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his passing one son, Christopher Nash of California; three brothers, Walter Steve Daniels of Little Rock, Richard (Joyce) Daniels of Blytheville and Michael Green of Coffeeville, Miss.; three sisters, Cynthia (Sista) Greene of Coffeeville, Miss., Jennifer Waller of Richmond, Vir., and Undala Greene of Coffeeville, Miss.; one aunt, (mother Lorene Greene’s sister), Lodine Hunter of Chicago, Ill. Also, mourning the death of their beloved uncle is a host of nieces and nephews. They will cherish his memories forever in their heart.

I am sure Sonny will be greatly missed by many of the shoppers of Hays store and Perkins Restaurant.

Memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 14, at 12:00 (noon) at Nehemiah Temple Church.

Services were provided by Gary Wolfe at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home & Cremation, 634 W. Main Street, Blytheville, AR 72315, 870-900-0010.
