Sandra Jean Lovins Smith

Sandra Jean Lovins Smith, 75, of Wilson, went to her eternal home Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022.

She was born to Ed and Versie Wagner Lovins in Gideon, Mo. She married the love of her life, Gaines Alan Smith, on Sept. 2, 1966. She was an administrative assistant for South Mississippi County School District for 42 years. Jeannie was a longtime member of Wilson First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She had a servant’s heart and served in many capacities within her church. Even after her health started to decline, she continued serving her church with a smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jeannie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gaines Alan Smith; daughter, Kaci Smith Jones and her husband Van; grandchildren, Logan Ryan Jones and Caroline Reece Jones; brothers, Jerry Lovins, Don Lovins and his wife Glenda, Ron Lovins and his wife Pattie and Kenny Lovins and his wife Nita; and sisters-in-law, Donna Smith Sparks and Phyllis Smith Melsoni.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at Wilson First Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Lovins and Rev. Paul Huenefeld officiating. Burial will follow in Number 8 Cemetery in Cooter, Mo. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at Wilson First Baptist Church.
