Rev. John Henry Baker

Rev. John Henry Baker, 81, of Osceola passed away Sept. 29, 2022, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was the former pastor of Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Burdette and was a member of True Grace Gospel Church in Osceola. John H. Baker was born Aug. 28, 1941, to Robert and Maereaner Phillips Baker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Walters Baker; his parents, Robert and Maereaner Baker.

He is survived by two sons, John Wesley Baker and Charles Farmer, both of Chicago, Ill.; three daughters, Carol Jordan, Marletta Farmer and Zandra Farmer, all of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Tommy Baker and James Baker, both of Osceola; four sisters, Luetta Bradley of Keylargo, Fla., and Ida Mae Williams, Robi Hill and Kathy Baker, all of Osceola; 12 grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be at Bethlehem M.B. Church in Osceola Saturday, Oct. 8, from 1-2 p.m. with funeral to follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Luxora Cemetery in Luxora, Rev. Greg Baker officiating. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
