Elijah King

Elijah King was born May 19, 1942, to the late Willie King Sr. and Flora King in Hickman. He departed this life Aug. 8, 2022, at his home in Blytheville at the age of 80. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy King; his parents, Willie King Sr. and Flora King; his daughter, Brenda King; his son, Tony King; his brothers, Willie King, Frank King and Timothy King.

Elijah was an astounding, brave, strong, confident man, who enjoyed his family and friends, gardening, lawnmowers, picking pecans, old skool cars and listening to music.

Elijah worked at Bush Canning Company for the majority of his life and semi-retired from Columbia Forest Products in Truman. Later he went on and continued his work journey with Blytheville Country Club.

Elijah leaves to cherish his memories five daughters, Terri Campbell (Homer), Christina Ware, Sonya Simmons, all of Blytheville, Sharon King of Dallas, Texas, and Kyjione King-Stewart (Terrence) of Fairbanks, Ak.; one son, Steven King (Stefanie) of Pine Bluff; three brothers, Robert King (Marie) of Park Forest, Ill., Chester King and Willie King Jr. (Lucinda) both of Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, Luann King of Peoria, Ill., and Mamie King of Bakersfield, Calif.; three special sisters, Janice Carter, Pearlie Thomas and Betty Banks, all of Blytheville; 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, from 12:00 (noon) until 12:55 p.m. at Greater Vision Church in Blytheville. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Blytheville.
