Charles Eggleston

Charles Eggleston was born April 19, 1955, to the late Plessie and Essie Eggleston in Portersville, Mo. He departed this life Aug. 1, 2022, in Washington Park, Ill., at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Levell Eggleston and Plessie Eggleston, two sisters, Rosemary Eggleston and Mary Louise Moore.

Charles previously lived in Hayti, Mo., and attended Central High School, Barber School and he graduated from Soldan High School. Charles previously worked as a licensed barber, Joe’s Clothes, Extended Stay Hotel & Lambert Airport. Charles loved to cut hair, play tennis, swim, and play golf, most of all dress in nice suits, hats and clothes.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Tracy Young Eggleston of Washington Park, Ill.; four daughters, Felecia Mitchell of Hayti, Mo., Charelle Jones of St. Louis, Mo., Tracia Eggleston of Los, Angles, Calif., and Valencia Eggleston of Atlanta, Ga.; three sons, Ryan Eggleston of Honolulu, Hawaii, Brandon Eggleston and Keith Holman, both of Bellville, Ill.; three sisters, Shirlene Harrison of Phoenix Ariz., Hattie White and Valarie Fry, both of St. Louis, Mo.; three brothers, Dobie Eggleston of Hayti, Mo., Robert Eliotti and Fred Eggleston, both of St. Louis, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and a host other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 13, from 11-11:55 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 (noon) at St. James Word of Faith Church, 500 S. 3rd St., Hayti, Mo. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Hayti.
