Gloria JoAnn Cassidy

Gloria JoAnn Cassidy, 93, of Blytheville, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

JoAnn was born in Blytheville to Cleve and Charlene Harrison Tankersley and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Blytheville and was a member of Ruddle Road Church of God. JoAnn was very crafty and enjoyed sewing and painting. She was an avid animal lover and especially adored cats. JoAnn loved gardening and being outdoors with nature. She planted more trees in the yard than her husband wanted and often said that there were so many trees that he wouldn’t notice just one more. She was a collector of anything with hummingbirds and was an excellent cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald H. Cassidy; children, Greg Cassidy and Brenda Ashmore; and three sisters.

JoAnn is survived by her children, Chris Cassidy of Jonesboro, Michele Cassidy of Blytheville and Jeff Cassidy of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, Phillip Cassidy, Amanda Brumfield, Gavin Ashmore, Keith Cassidy, Katelynn Dixon and Kyle Cassidy; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. Burial will be private.
