Rev. Curtis Lee Pointer Richmond

Rev. Curtis Lee Pointer Richmond, 71, of Osceola, passed away Aug. 1, 2022, at SMC Medical Center in Osceola. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a retired factory worker, pastor of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Blytheville, a member of Blytheville Ministerial Alliance, member of the Brotherhood and a member of Rosenwald Reunited Alumni Organization. Mr. Richmond was born Sept. 21, 1950, in Osceola to Henry Richmond and Selener Arnald Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Detrex Pointer; five brothers, Leslie Richmond, T.J. Richmond, James Richmond, Larry Richmond and Melvin Richmond; four sisters, Dorothy Richmond, Juanita Richmond, June Taylor and Eveline Flie.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Pointer of Osceola; one son, Demetrius (Shalonda) Pointer of Osceola; three daughters, Stefanie Bradley, Andrea Doss (Brian) and Lavita Hill (Bobby Joe, Jr.), all of Osceola; three brothers, Willis Richmond, Bobby (Regina) Richmond and John (Minnie) Richmond of Benton Harbor, Mich.; two sisters, Betty Richmond and Artie Bell Jones of Chicago, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 13, from 9-10 a.m. with the funeral at 10 a.m. at Promiseland C.O.G.I.C. in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola with Pastor Anthony Burton officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge of arrangements.
