Wanda Carol Spence

Wanda Carol Spence, 82, of Dell, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Wanda was born in Cooter, Mo., to Homer and Mildred Terry Wilson and was a graduate of Cooter High School. She was retired from American Greetings and was a member of Dell Baptist Church. Wanda was a member of the Dell Garden Club. Family was most important to her and she was her grandchildren’s greatest cheerleader. She never missed an event or anything that her grandchildren were involved in. Wanda was always a great friend to everyone and never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Steve “Buddy” Wilson and Johnny Wilson; and sister, Lue Woodward.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Wylie “Gene” Spence of the home; children, Gene Spence, Jr. of Dell, Gayla Herriman and her husband David of Jonesboro, Terry Spence of Blytheville and Angie Dixon of Jonesboro; sister, Betty Hicks of Marshall, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 3 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
