Robert “Bob” Lewis

Robert “Bob” Lewis, 75, of Manila, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at his home.

Bob was born in Blytheville to R.N. and Luon Lane Lewis. He served his country with honor in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He rose through the ranks throughout his career and retired as a Master Sergeant. After retirement, Bob started a career in law enforcement. He worked for several agencies including the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department, Gosnell Police Department and the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Bob was a Mason, Shriner and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid gun and airplane enthusiast. Bob was a longtime member of the American Red Cross where he volunteered a generous amount of his time helping others in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Lewis; father and mother-in-law, Leo A. and Magdalene Aberle; and two brothers-in-law.

Bob is survived by his wife, Louise Aberle Lewis of the home; children, Francis Lewis and his wife Amanda of Blytheville, Jennifer Lewis of Millsboro, Del., and Ashley Lewis of Blytheville; grandsons, Christopher Lewis and Jordan Collins and his wife Brandy; stepmother, Betty Lewis of Rector; and a host of brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 6, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 11, at 10 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Bob’s honor to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or to the American Red Cross.
