Harold Lee Vines

Harold Lee Vines, 90, of Manila, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Bellefonte to the late Odie and Minnie Robinson Vines, he was raised in the Harrison area and had attended Bergman Public Schools. He served in the Army National Guard and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following the war, he began his career with the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company and lived and worked throughout the railroads territory building bridges. Harold was a member of the Edwardsville, Ill., Masonic Lodge #99 and the Abou Ben Adhem Shriner’s Mosque in Springfield, Mo. He had been a Manila resident since 1989. Harold had a genuine zest for life, he was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed the time he shared with his family at the cabin in Yellville. Harold was of the Church of Christ faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dixie Monaghan Vines; a son, David Vines; one daughter, Linda Vines; and a grandson, Rick Graham. 

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Jane Clester Vines of Manila; four daughters, Jeri Hendrickson of Branson, Mo., Sharon Fessler of Perry, Iowa, Jo Gina Tolle of Monroe, Ga., Leah Rylant of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one stepson, Darrin McFarlin of Pensacola, Fla. He also leaves one sister, Myrna Adams of West Palm Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and a very special niece, Jasmine Easley. 

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Jerry Kausler officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
