Christine Alderman Parker, 99, widow of Dr. Orlie Parker, Jr., died Jan. 31, 2022 . Orlie and Christine were married for 56 years. She was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Elaine. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth P. Alderman, Sr. and Elizabeth Redlin Alderman, and her brother, K.P. Alderman, Jr.

Survivors include her four children, Dr. Van O. Parker (Susan) of Blytheville, Carol Parker Williams (Stan) of Maumelle, Dan L. Parker (Gigi) of Little Rock, and Dr. Annette Parker Meador (Rick) of North Little Rock. She also has 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She and Orlie resided in Blytheville for 50 years and were active members of the First United Methodist Church.

Christine graduated from Elaine High School, University of Central Arkansas and Peabody College in Vanderbilt University. Her degrees in English and Library Science contributed to her extensive study in genealogy. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the American Colonists. As a member of Lakewood Methodist Church in North Little Rock, she was a Sunday school teacher and active in United Methodist Women. Furthermore, she was a graduate and teacher in Bethel Bible Study. She was also a member of Chapter W of the Little Rock PEO.

A private family service will be conducted in Phillips County, Arkansas, in March. Memorials may be made to UMCOR, a Global Relief Ministry by The United Methodist Church.
