Harry Higgs, 75, of Blytheville, passed away Nov. 22, 2021.

Harry was born in Durham, N.C., to William and Viola Dove Higgs and was of the Methodist faith. Harry served his country with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from which he retired. He worked with B-52 bombers and was a sergeant serving in the 97th Armament’s and Electronics Squadrons. After the military, he worked and retired as a maintenance supervisor for Swift Creek Apartments. Harry was an advocate for animals, especially dogs, and cheered on the Duke Blue Devils all his life.

Harry left his wife, Linda of the home, who is now reunited with him in death. He was also preceded in the death by his parents; two sisters, Sylvia Faye Young and Gloria Kaye Higgs; and great-grandson, Jeremiah Lee Turner.

He is survived by his daughters, Connie Higgs Allen of Wilson, N.C., and Melinda Wood (Robert) of West Henrietta, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Tory Lassiter (Mark), Melinda Turner, Marcos Lopez, Maria Lopez, Caitlin Wasko (Stephen), Allison, Rachel, and Bethany Judah; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Hayse officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made in Harry’s honor to the Blytheville Humane Society, 2530 Arizona Street, Blytheville, Arkansas 72315.
