Virginia Lee Sellers

Virginia Lee Sellers, 85, of Gosnell, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Virginia was born in Reform, Ala., to Rufus and Clara Leavell Swedenburg and was a lifelong member of Gosnell Baptist Church. She was a hairdresser for 47 years. Virginia worked at Burls Beauty Shop until its closing and then went on to work at Sherry’s Styling Salon until her retirement. Virginia was a member of the Cotton Classic car club and enjoyed riding or driving around in her 1957 Ford Fairlane convertible. She loved to go shopping, talking on the phone and had a love for animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sellers, Jr.; sisters, Bessie Kemp and Zeta Peralto; and sister-in-law, Viola Johnson.

Virginia leaves her children, Ricky Sellers and his wife Carol of Van Buren, Debbie Jones of Fort Smith, Kathy Sellers and Melinda Bass of Jonesboro, Sandra Burch of Gosnell and Lisa Holifield and her husband J.C. of Gosnell; grandchildren, Michael Kaulfurst, Amanda Kaulfurst Freeman, Dana Kaulfurst, Chad Sellers, J.J. Cooper, Bill Holifield and Jenny Holifield; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Billy Joe “B.J.” and Pat Sellers of Blytheville, Jimmy and Millie Sellers of Jonesboro, Willene Ziebell of Rockford, Ill., and Susan and Harold Perrin of Jonesboro; and her cat, Blue.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Eddie Clemons and Dr. Max Briley officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 50 people are allowed to gather inside of Cobb Funeral Home and practice social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance between one another. Face masks are required to enter the building and to be worn at all times.
