Shirley Dean Minirth

Shirley Dean Minirth, 73, of Manila, widow of Dan Minirth, passed from this life Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020, at her home. Born in Bay Village, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Albertine Shaver Clements and had been a Manila area resident since 1958. Shirley was a 1964 graduate of Manila High School and retired from the Arkansas Department of Human Services in 2003. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Manila and enjoyed cooking for her family. Shirley's favorite pastime was attending her grandchildren's sporting events, canning vegetables from her late husband's garden and camping. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, R.T. Clements and Bill Clements, and two sisters, Ann Warren and Carol Daughtry.

Survivors include her son, Jason Minirth of Manila; two daughters, Danna Mattingly and her husband Michael and Lori Crook and her husband Chris all of Manila; one sister, Betty Bruce of Manila. She also leaves five grandchildren, Adam Daniel Blocker, Erica Danielle Minirth, Brayden Mattingly, Collin Crook and Courtney Crook; and two great-grandchildren, Landen Blocker and Adalyn Wyatt.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Hawkins and Dr. Matt Pryor officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family will receive visitors Friday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home. In compliance with state guidelines and the request of the family, attendance will be limited and social distancing practiced. Face masks must be worn at all times at the funeral home as well as the cemetery.
