Roosevelt Carter of Blytheville was born Jan. 26, 1949, in Mississippi to the late James Carter and the late Mary Waters Carter. He was a forklift operator and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Carter passed away Aug. 16, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his father, James Carter; his mother, Mary Waters Carter; two brothers, Howard Carter and Dan Carter; and three sisters, Hannah Cowans, Bailey Carter and Barbara Carter.
He is survived by two sons, Roosevelt Carter, Jr. of Louisville, Ky., and Bryan Carter of Blytheville; two daughters, Sherry Rogers and Leslie Carter, both of Blytheville; one brother, Joe Willie Carter; one sister, Coretta Carter of Yazoo City, Miss.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home, Blytheville.
