Doyle Wayne “Big Daddy” Stevenson

Doyle Wayne “Big Daddy” Stevenson, 73, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his home. Doyle was born in Steele, Mo., to Troy and Mary Dotson Stevenson and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was retired from the Arkansas Highway Department where he worked as a road crewman and a rest area attendant. Doyle was an active volunteer with the Area 13 Special Olympics.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Troy Wayne Stevenson; two sisters, Mary Davis Polson and Carol Polson; brother, Charles Lester Stevenson; brother-in-law, Henry Anderson Brooks; four nephews and two nieces.

Doyle leaves his wife, Shirley Brooks Stevenson of the home; daughter, Darlene Blagg and her husband Curtis of Halfmoon; two sisters, Joanne Jones and her husband Sam of Joplin, Mo., and Norma Gail Lane and her husband Raymond of Flippin; three grandchildren, Harley, Jeremy and Magan Blagg; three great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Nancy Stevenson, Gracie Lemons, Wilma Woods, Erma Brown and Betty Jewell Richardson; and two brothers-in-law, Troy Edward Cletus Brooks and James William Brooks.

The family would like to thank Doyle’s Arkansas Hospice Caregivers, Penny Tonya, Lisa, Teresa and Chris.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
