Yvonne Zakrzewski

Yvonne Zakrzewski, age 81, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her daughters on December 9, 2018.

She was born on July 12, 1937 in Blytheville, Arkansas and moved to San Antonio, Texas where she met and married Richard Zakrzewski.

She worked at Kelly AFB as Branch Chief of Construction and had unlimited Contracting Officer's Warrant, then retiring after 30 years. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, needle point and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was an avid gardener and won several beautification awards for her yard in Leon Valley. She is survived by daughters, Valerie Zakrzewski, Pamela Evans, son in law Scott Evans, grandchildren Lauren Hatherall, Caitlyn Hatchett, sisters May Keefe, Mary Lou Knipple, Shirley White, Betty Sue McGee, and brother, Wayne Lovelace. She was proceeded in death by spouse, Richard Zakrzewski, parents, Onie and Archie Lovelace, sisters Helen Perkins, Pearl Lewis, Louise Moore, and brother, Roy Lovelace. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her kindness, independence, and love for her family and pets.

The Zakrzewski family would like to extend our gratitude to the caring staff of Methodist Hospital ICU, Vitas Hospice, and Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
