Jessie Floyd Brandon

Jessie Floyd Brandon, 89, of Leachville, passed from this life Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Leachville he was the son of the late William Sylvester and Evie Davis Brandon and had been a lifelong Leachville area resident. He was a retired restaurant owner having owned and operated several establishments over the years including, the former Brandon's Do-nut Shop in Leachville, Jessie's Do-nut Shop in Paragould and Brandon's Log Cabin of Manila. He had attended First Assembly of God Church in Leachville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Chris Brandon and Darrel Brandon; one granddaughter, Tonya Brandon; four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Wanda May Ladd Brandon of the home; one son, LaDale Brandon of Leachville; his daughter, Teresa Regina Dawson of Leachville; two brothers, Norman and Leon Brandon both of Gassville; two sisters, Shirley Taylor of Jonesboro and Joyce Bost of Cardwell, Mo.

He also leaves seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with the Reverend Carlton Rose and Reverend Tom Newman officiating. Burial followed in the Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould. The family received visitors Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.
