Tommye Nelda Eubanks

Mrs. Tommye Nelda Eubanks, 77, a longtime Manila resident and widow of Scott Eubanks, passed from this life Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo.

Born in Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Jess and Cora Lowry Carnal and was raised in the Arbyrd and Leachville communities. A 1968 graduate of Arkansas State University, she earned degrees in special education and elementary education and went on to teach in the Leachville and Manila Public Schools. She had been a Manila resident for the past 60 years and was a member of the Westside Baptist Church. Survivors include:

One son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Tonia Eubanks of Manila;

Two daughters, Diane Wagner of Manila and Karen Burks and her husband, Lynn of Manila;

Three grandchildren, Michelle Schwartz and her husband, Jeff of Marion,

Scott Eubanks and Jared Burks, both of Manila

She also leaves one great-granddaughter, Addison Clare Schwartz.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Wade Shownes officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery.
