Charles G. Cobbs

Charles Gary Cobbs, 73, of Leachville, died Saturday June 8, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. The son of the late Robert P. and Minnie Bush Cobbs, he was a lifelong Leachville resident, and a 1958 graduate of Leachville High School. He served in the U.S. Army, was a retired heavy equipment operator, and was a longtime member and Deacon of the Leachville First Baptist Church.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dottie Connell Cobbs.

Survivors include three brothers, Clyde Cobbs of Cardwell, Mo., Irvin Cobbs of Greers Ferry, and R.P. Cobbs, of Flint, Mich.; one sister,

Ruth Turner of Winthrop; one special sister-in-law, Ruth Anne Taylor, and her husband Charles of Paragould. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. David Price officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Leachville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be deacons of the First Baptist Church.
