County needs residents, not just jobs

Thursday, March 1, 2012

To the editor:

Economic development tax, who is it really for? We have industry that want our tax incentives to come here, but do not have very many employees that live here. I also realize that all of these industries' employees may not come from our county. But these industries' management should respect the local taxpayers enough to buy homes and become part of the communities that are supplying the taxes.

If you agree, become part of the solution, and not add to our problems.

If we have to, we can always reverse this tax to rebuild our local communities. I would rather that you become part of us. You want money, and we want more citizens, not just job growth that makes its home elsewhere.
