Fern D. Church

Mr. Fern D. Church, 87, of West Memphis, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Crittenden Regional Hospital in West Memphis.

Mr. Church was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for action in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and from Newbery Tanks. He was a member of West Memphis First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Church.

He leaves a daughter, Betty Pierce of West Memphis;

His son, Johnny Church of Blytheville; and

Two grandchildren, Julie Church of Blytheville and Jennifer Bennett of Blytheville.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home with graveside services following at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion.
