Robert D. 'Bob' Sarrels

Mr. Robert D. "Bob" Sarrels, 68, of Blytheville, passed from this life Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at his home.

Born in Manila to Floyd and Lizzie McCloud Sarrels, he was an area resident most of his life. Robert was employed at Motor Appliance Corporation for the past 30 years and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Sarrels loved to fish and cook for his family and friends. His love of gardening blessed many people. He grew tomatoes and squash and would give them to friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose life revolved around spending as much time as possible with his family.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Dole Sarrels and Russell Sarrels; and sisters Linda Finley, Mary Robertson and Nellie Sarrels.

He leaves his wife of 24 years, Geneva Strop Sarrels of the home;

His children, Brenda Hamilton and her husband, John, of Chicago, Pat Haeffner and her husband, David, of Oklahoma City, Robbie Sarrels of Oklahoma City, Robert Sarrels Jr. and his wife, Gayle, of Paragould, Danny Beck and his wife, Susie, of Blytheville, and Debbie Beck Evans and her husband, Neal, of Jackson, Mo.;

Ten grandchildren, Jeffery Williams, Ronnie Ticer, Robert Sarrels, Brandon Sarrels, Jared Beck, Jeremy Beck, Brice Beck, Leslie Booher, Amanda Shade, David Haeffner Jr.;

Seven great-grandchildren, Dillon Scott, Hunter Shade, Holland Beck, Sara Beck, Piper Beck, Evan Beck, Conner Beck; and

A brother, Johnny Sarrels.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Moore officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be emailed to cobbfuneralhome@sbcglobal.net
