During a heated Parks and Recreation meeting Thursday night, committee chairman Councilman R.L. Jones was adamant that he would not support any legislation requiring a contract between the city and vendor of the concession stand at Walker Park. The issue was originally brought to discussion by a citizen within the audience, Keith Michaels; however, Jones was already visibly irritated before the start of the meeting as he argued with Councilman John Mayberry about an issue unrelated to parks — the quality of Pafford EMS.. ...

Most interesting committee meeting I’ve attended

All I can say is, “Wow.” I’m still not exactly sure why the Parks and Recreation meeting this week got so heated, but boy, did it ever. Usually Parks and Rec meetings are the most tame of the committees and not too much happens at them. I guess this meeting followed that guideline somewhat. Not much happened but it was nowhere near tame...
