Myrtle Kathline Sartain

Myrtle Kathline Sartain, 94, of Osceola, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2024, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Owens Crossroads, Ala. Myrtle was a woman of strong Baptist faith, devoted to her beliefs and values. She showed her love of music through talented guitar and organ playing. Myrtle was young at heart which made spending time with her grandchildren an absolute delight.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Edwards of Osceola; three grandchildren, Kristie (Lance) Duck of Whitton, Bud (Deanna) Langston of Osceola and Carol Krallman of Goshen, Ind.; as well as six great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Whitaker; mother, Irene Montgomery-Whitaker; husband, Mark Sartain; two sons, Paul Stubblefield and Ronne Stubblefield; two grandsons, Christopher Stubblefield and Dwight Stubblefield; one great-grandson, Gaven Stubblefield; one brother, J.W. Whitaker; and two sisters, Lenora Ray and Lillian Smith.

Visitation for Myrtle was Wednesday, March 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 1323 W. Keiser Ave., Osceola, officiated by Lance Duck. She was laid to rest at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
