Calvin Jones

Calvin Jones, 64, passed away Feb. 16, 2024, in Rochester, NY. He was born Jan. 3, 1960, in Marked Tree. Calvin served his nation with pride in United States Army beginning in 1979. He was a man of Baptist faith. Calvin found joy in the simplicity of life, often seen with a fishing rod in hand, waiting patiently by the river, or in the woods on a hunt. He valued the companionship of his friends with whom he shared many of life’s moments.

His memory is cherished by his devoted daughter, Vicky (Jeff) Morton of Jonesboro; his five brothers, Earl (Joyce) Jones of Marked Tree, Aaron (Marilyn) Jones of Trumann, Jerry (Janet) Jones of Marked Tree, Levander (Linda) Jones Jr. of Jonesboro, Donnell (Charlene) Jones of Binghampton, N.Y.; and his sister, Carolyn (John) Willis of Killeen, Texas. He was a treasured grandfather to Zaria Lemay, Journi Versie, Monica Morris and Baylee Morris.

He joins in eternal rest his late father, Levander Jones Sr.; his mother, Earlie Mae Morris Jones; and his sisters, Zylphia Moore and Bernice Fay Jones, who preceded him in death.

The family received friends Friday, March 8, from 1-2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, located at 100 Main Street, Tyronza. The funeral service to honor and celebrate his life was at 2 p.m. following the visitation, at the same address, officiated by Pastor Aaron Jones. Interment was at Cherry Beam Cemetery, Tyronza, where Calvin was laid to rest.

The arrangements for Mr. Jones were entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza.
