Raymond Lloyd “Jerry” Murphy, 80, of Caraway, passed from this life Saturday, March 2, 2024, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident near Rivervale. The son of the late Ed and Ethel Palmer Murphy, he was born and raised in Manila. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was self-employed as a project superintendent in residential construction. Jerry was a member of the Memphis Beekeepers Association, and he enjoyed gardening, hunting and beekeeping. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Abernathy Murphy of the home; one son, Jerry Wayne Murphy (Karen) of Drexel, Mo.; one stepson, Chuck Leonard of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; one daughter, Christy Floyd (Jessie) of Caraway; one brother, Gary Murphy of Manila; two sisters, Cathy Mindy and Marsha Mulford, both of Blytheville. Raymond also leaves 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the Howard Funeral Service chapel in Manila with Chris Kelems officiating. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.HowardFuneralService.com.
