Kathleen “Kathy” Sue Aleshire, 79, of Blytheville, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, in Jonesboro. Born in Adrian, Mich., to Greely “Jeff” and Katherine Kempf Lane, Kathy was retired from JC Penney and also worked at Glenda’s Hallmark.

Kathy absolutely loved nature. She loved going for walks and bird watching. She also enjoyed bowling, playing games on her iPad, watching Game Show Network and the Hallmark Channel. Kathy was a member of the Armorel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her step-mother, Beulah Lane; her husband of 50 years, David Aleshire; and her brother-in-law, Jack Rohrback.

Kathy is survived by two children, Lisa James (Gerald) of Blytheville and David Aleshire (Tammy) of Bartlett, Tenn.; one brother, Jerry Lane (Sharon) of Montgomery, Mich.; seven sisters, Linda Baldwin (Jerry) of Adrian, Mich., Judy Rohrback of Van Buren Township, Mich., Gloria Ternes (Bill) of Gilbert, Ariz., Carol Hoag (Dick) of Fort Worth, Ind., Marjori Houttekier of Adrian, Mich., Connie Baughey (Ted) of Mt. Sternings, Ky., and Janet Flook (Tom) of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; one granddaughter, Jenna James - whom she adored and was very proud of and her boyfriend, Tyler Sims; two step-grandchildren, Abby Herzfeld and Drew Herzfeld (Ashley) and their daughter Blair; her beloved dog Crispin; special friends, Donna and Waylon Hinton, Joan Slaughter of Blytheville Melody Cooper of Merryville, La., Moanna Sanders of Hawaii and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at Armorel Baptist Church with Rev. John Wofford officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
