Lee Roy Echols was born April 11, 1943, to the union of Lorn and Creasie Echols in Frenchman’s Bayou. He was a twin brother to Lee Ray Echols.

Lee confessed his faith in God at an early age. He remained faithful, he has never wavered. He was a man of purpose about spreading the plan of salvation to souls that were lost.

Lee was united in holy matrimony to Henri Mae Baldwin in Blytheville. To this union seven children were born: Lee Roy Jr., Christopher Lee, Alba Elaine, Ruth Elizabeth, Angela Lynn, Joy Denise and Mary Grace. He later moved his family to St. Louis, Mo. Years later, Henri Mae preceded him in death.

Besides working in the ministry, Lee was also a licensed plumber and carpenter.

Lee was united in holy matrimony to Lillie Webster on April 19, 2006, in St. Louis, Mo. Their unique union remained faithful to this day.

Lee departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024. He was preceded in death by both parents; siblings, Elijah Wallace, Lawrence, James, J.D., Jessie, Willie B., Lee Ray Echols, and a sister, Lillie V. Yarbrough; his son, Christopher Lee; and a granddaughter, Crystal Echols.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Lillie; his children, Lee Roy Jr. (Karen) of St. Louis; Alba Elaine Kemp of Florida; Ruth (Jerry) Beaven, Angela Echols, Joy Echols, and Mary Echols; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Echols (all of St. Louis); stepchildren, Kent Webster, Mika and Timothy Williams of St. Louis; grandchildren, Laura, Raven, Shay, Christopher Jr., Angel, Angeles, DeAngelo, Marianna, Madison, Jaylen, Jerry Jr., Darnell Jr., Jasmine and Devin; sisters, Izella Moore of St. Louis and Bertha Mae Echols of Blytheville; sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Echols of Blytheville and Mary Echols of St. Louis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
