Shirley Jean Larue Adair, 76, of Blytheville, passed from this life Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, at her home with family by her side. Born in Blytheville, to Herman and Pearl Vernon Larue, she was a retired housekeeper with Baptist Memorial Hospital. Her true passion was cooking and her family. She was at her happiest in her kitchen with family at the table. She always made sure that absolutely no one went hungry. She was going to feed you, whether you wanted to eat or not. Food was her love language, taking care of and making sure our needs were met, this is what she did for her family - our family.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her true love/soulmate, Jacob “Dan” Adair; two brothers, Joe and Leon Larue; sister, Juanice Shinault; special sister-in-law (love), Effie “Possie” Gonzales; nephew, Chris Larue; grandson, Justin Adair; and special brother-in-law, James Sherrod.

She leaves her three children, Michael David of Blytheville, Jacob DeWayne and Ethel of Steele, Mo., Danielle Denise Adair-Dixon and Todd Ross of Blytheville; sister, Vernestine Godsey-Sherrod of Blytheville; brother, James Larue of New Hampshire; her longtime best friend, Barbara “Aunt Jackie” Gentry; 11 grandchildren, Tim, Laura, Courtney, Jasmine (Hootster), Dakota (Cody-Bug), Thomas, Jacob, Joey (Bubba), Jessica (Jess), Abby and Ally; 10 great-grandchildren, Andrea, David Jr., Isabella, Levi, Sawyer, Carson, Carter, Baker, Blakely and Charleigh; special nephew, Matt Godsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 29, from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
