Howard Waterford Jr.

Howard Waterford Jr. of Jonesboro departed from this life on Nov. 25, 2023, at his residence. He was 77 years old. He was born in Little Rock on Oct. 15, 1946, to the late Howard Waterford Sr. and the late Arnetta Holden. Howard retired from the Blytheville School District after 41 years working in maintenance. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Joanne Waterford, and an active member of the New Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Blytheville. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Waterford Sr and Arnetta Waterford, two brothers, Charles Mitchell and Larry Mitchell; and one sister; Johnnie Mae Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne Waterford of Jonesboro; three sons, Michael (Crystal) Hudson of Blytheville, Andre (Jessica) McCray of Jonesboro and Anthony (Teshonna) Hudson of Lexington, Ky.; five daughters, Carol Jackson of Blytheville, Connie Burrage and Schrelle Waterford, both of St. Louis, Mo., Kizzy Shields of Blytheville, and Allison (Aaron) Robinson of Jonesboro; three brothers, Augusta Mitchell and Gary (Carolyn) Mitchell, both of Indianapolis, Ind., and Freddie (Carolyn) Mitchell of Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Betty Jean Rogers of Blytheville; 37 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Howard Waterford will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, at New Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Blytheville from 9-10 a.m. with the funeral to follow. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Douglas Echols officiating.

Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville will be in charge of the arrangements.
