Winsley Henry, Jr. of Osceola, formerly of Blytheville, was born Jan. 5, 1958, in Blytheville to Winsley Henry, Sr. and Shirley Rose Johnson Henry. He attended Blytheville High School and served his country in the United States Army. Winsley was a skilled self-employed carpenter who enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends. He was a member of New Mt. Pleasant Christian Worship Center under the pastorage of Bishop Gregory Brown.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Shirley Rose Johnson Henry, and a grandson, Rasheed Jahar Henry. Winsley departed this earthly life on Aug. 31, 2023, at the age of 65.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Loretta Henry of the home; his father Winsley Henry, Sr. of Blytheville; one son, Winsley Henry III of Blytheville; three daughters, Katrina Henry of Sherwood, Kanaka Henry of Fayetteville, Ark., and Leticia (Mario) Glenn of Fayetteville, N.C.; six sisters, Lavonne Guydon of Omaha, Neb., Beverly and husband Reverend Ronald Young of Little Rock, Dr. Ronda and husband Robert Tillman, also of Little Rock, Carolyn and husband Stanley Davis of Grand Prairie, Texas, Karen and husband Robert Belk of Blytheville and Catina Dawson of Blytheville; 17 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitations will be held Friday, Sept. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at New Mt. Pleasant Christian Worship Center, 533 South Broadway, Osceola, where Bishop Gregory Brown is the pastor, and Saturday, Sept. 16, at Prince of Peace Church, Blytheville, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m. at Prince of Peace Church, 501 East McHaney Drive, where Reverend Timothy Rogers is the pastor. Bishop Gregory Brown will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
