Jesse “David” Hall

Jesse “David” Hall, 85, of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, July 13, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Etowah, he was the son of the late Roy Homer and Lillian Pruitt Hall and had been a lifelong area resident. David was a 1957 graduate of West Ridge High School near Etowah. He had served his country in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He was a retired machine operator with American Greetings of Osceola with over 50 years of service. David enjoyed watching and playing basketball and baseball, pitching horseshoes, golfing, swimming and other outdoor activities. He enjoyed watching Westerns, leading singing at his church and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a long-time member of the Etowah Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Hiser Hall on June 30, 2023; a daughter, Patricia Ann Hall; one brother, Billy Wayne Hall; and one sister, Vern Watson.

Survivors include one son, David Allen Hall (Shing) of Cave City; one daughter, Bonnie Gail Boling (Eric) of Manila. He also leaves five grandchildren, Megan, Jessica, Sonny, Brandie and Dustin; and nine great-grandchildren, Brylee, Brayden, Tristen, Blakely, Caroline, Dax, Kaylann, Ivy and Ellie.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 17, at the Etowah Baptist Church with pastor Danny Helms officiating. Serving as active pallbearers will be Eric Boling, Tyler Booth, Gerald Williams, Tony Hall, Sonny Hall and Jordan Doss. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors Monday afternoon from 1:00 until service time.
